Aurender App Manual

Transferring Music

There are two ways to copy files to the Aurender’s HDD. One is to use a computer connected to the same Local Area Network (LAN) as the Aurender. The other way is to connect a USB memory device to the USB port on the rear panel.

Note: After music files are copied to the Aurender internal storage, the newly added files or changes can only be seen after the hard drive is scanned and the song database is updated. This happens automatically a couple of minutes after the last changes to the hard drive. To see changes immediately, press the “Scan for newly added files” button in the Scanner menu located in Settings menue of the Aurender App. Depending on the size of the database, this can take a few seconds to five minutes or more.

PC Users

1. Open a Windows Explorer window and go click on “Network” on the left column of folders. Look for the shared folder with the Aurender’s model name. If it does not appear automatically in your computer’s list of shared devices, you can add it manually as follows:

– Press the Windows + R on your keyboard (START -> RUN).
– Type “\\[AurenderIPAddress]”  and hit “OK.” For example:

2. Double-click the Aurender shared folder and “Music1” and “Music2” (if applicable) will appear.

Note: You will be asked to enter a username and password. The default username and password are both “aurender. Updated password info can be found in Conductor App Settings menu>Aurender FIle Share.

3. Enter the Username and Password for access to the Aurender internal storage.

4. Now, you can copy & paste or drag & drop your music library files to the Aurender internal storage. You may add, delete, or rename folders.

Note: the names of the folders at the root of “Music1” and “Music2” will be reflected in the second row of buttons between ALL and MISC. If you have more than five folders on the hard drive, place square brackets around the folder names that you want to appear first. For example,  “[CD Rips].”

Note: Importing large libraries at once can take a very long time. We recommend importing files in batches. Also, make sure your computer has a hard-wired Ethernet connection to your LAN. Do not use WiFi for large data transfers.

USB Memory Device

Begining with Aurender System Software 4(5).3.130 USB copying for playback from a USB drive can be activated from the “Disk Information” tab in “Settings” in the Aurender Conductor App. Users can play files directly from an attached USB storage device (one device only) or copy the content into the Aurender’s internal storage drive by selecting the command “Copy”.

If you wish to copy file content from an external drive into a specific folder you’ve created on the Aurender internal HDD, you need to import using the same file structure employed on the Aurender.

For example, if you have a folder named “Music1/Rock/Eric Clapton/24 Nights” on your internal HDD and you want to copy another Eric Clapton album, “Clapton” from an external drive, then the folder structure on that drive should look like this: “Rock/Eric Clapton/Clapton”. After copying the album into the Aurender, the internal HDD file structure will look like: “Music1/Rock/Eric Clapton/Clapton”.
